Napier City PAK’nSAVE 200m Kids Classic
Take the plunge, learn about water safety and have some fun!
This is a race just for the kids. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills and develop swim confidence in a fun and safe environment.
Competitors will leave the beach at the left hand end of the course near the lighthouse, swim approximately 20m out to sea before turning right around a marker buoy. They will then swim along the beach to round a second marker buoy and head into the beach to the finish.
Every entrant will get a certificate. There will be some spot prizes too, so come along and participate, there’ll be fun for all.
Kids wanting to enter must between 8-10 years of age as of the day of the event and/or be capable of swimming 200m competently in a pool.
Water safety will be controlled by members from Surf Life Saving New Zealand, who will give advice before the race. Lifeguards will be patrolling the course during the event in IRBs and on rescue boards.
Race start time
Compulsory pre-race briefing at 8.45 am. Race starts at 9 am.
